After the successful closure of the two national congresses, the NPC and the CPPCC, Home and Abroad News Press had its 13th birthday ceremony in Beijing. Mrs. Wei continued that "the success of Home and Abroad News Press is built on innovative business model, top-performance talented employees, exploratory encouragement and systematic management. In the past 13 years, we grew from a small company to an international corporation which owns and operates more than 49 global branches and information centers, including U.S.A, Canada, Finland, France, U.K., Singapore, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, Australia and many other countries. In those countries, our works and contributions were greatly appreciated by the local governments and communities."

韦燕在致词中说，2011年5月6日，国务院港澳办“港审联字[2011] 537号”文批准，中外新闻社北京记者站正式成立。从此，中外新闻社立足北京，展开与各外国驻华使馆及中国各部委办、各商会、各大财团、著名大学等紧密合作。2012年10月13日，中国传媒大学与中外新闻社结为战略合作伙伴关系，中外新闻社驻中国传媒大学工作室揭牌仪式于在中国传媒大学39号楼举行。双方认为：此次合作正是应对时代挑战的选择，对促进传媒业发展，培养造就更多的高素质传媒人才，提升中国传播能力有着不可估量的作用。
Mrs. Wei also mentioned in her speech that "Home and Abroad News Press Beijing Office was opened on May 6th 2011 with the official approval from Hong Kong and Macao Office of the State Council. Since then, Home and Abroad New Press established a solid base in Mainland China and started building closer connections with foreign embassies, various Chinese governmental departments, business association, financial institutions and many top universities and such. On December 13th 2012, Home and Abroad News Press and Communication University of China established the strategic partnership, and Home and Abroad News Press also opened a local office in the Communication University of China. Through this partnership, both organizations achieved consensus to train more high-quality media talents to response to the challenges of today’s media industry and enhance Chinese external communication in the global platform."
在谈到中外合作项目上韦燕说，2013年9月22日，中外新闻社与美国蒙纳瑞克斯好莱坞电影公司成功的签署了合作备忘录，为美国蒙纳瑞克斯好莱坞电影公司在中国拍摄纪录片提供强有力的支持，共同向西方世界展示和宣传一个真实的中国。
On September 22nd 2013, as another milestone event in its growth history, Home and Abroad News Press signed the Strategic Cooperation Agreement with (U.S.A) Monarex Hollywood Corporation to provide strong support to Monarex in film making in China and promote a real China to the Western World.

韦燕最后说，李克强总理在今年的政府工作报告中谈到，要加强国际传播能力建设,提升国家文化软实力。其实我们一直在思考着如何利用中外新闻社外交资源和人才资源，创新改革思路，拓宽发展空间，以全球化视野和国际化眼光，积极推进中外的传媒合作。
At the end, Mrs. Wei said that "In Premier Li’s government work report this year, it emphasized on strengthening the ability of international communication and improving the soft power of Chinese culture. In fact, Home and Abroad News Press always explores possible ways to engage diplomatic resources with global connections, improve Chinese talent pools, innovate the reformation and development concepts and promote the media collaboration between Chinese and overseas media channels."

Chinese famous artist and calligraphers Mr. Yu Xiangquan and Mr. Feng Bing also joined the ceremony party and presented their valueless works to foreign envoys and friends as congratulation gifts. The famous Peking Opera artist Mr. Han Yunfei performed "Changing Faces" opera shows and Ms. Wang Xiaoqing, from Chinese Performance Academy, singed a classic song from “La Traviata” for all guests. The ceremony hosts were Ms. Chen Yiwen from Communication University of China and Mr. Igor from Ukraine.
