In our exclusive interviews, most of the world leaders are smart, well-educated, agile, quick responsive and have extensive interests and hobbies. Because many of them are very busy for the daily agendas, colorful lifestyle will not help them to maintain their physical and mental health, but also help them to govern the countries in a better way. Therefore, when we had exclusive interviews with them, we always paid special attentions to a series of “important data” which is connected to their work or life so that we can build the rapport with them at the first meet. For example, when we had interview with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Estonia Andrus Ansip, we know that he is a very close friend of Finland Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen. We can correctly tell him that when, where and how they met each other and what projects the two countries are currently cooperating. This impressive response made Prime Minister Ansip instantly connected with us and became our good friend at the first meet.
苦练内功，以“数字”掌握主动还不仅仅是中外新闻社采访对方的“双刃剑”，我们在被采访时，也同样以“数字”征服对方。如：2010年11月在伊朗17届世界媒体通讯社展韦燕获得伊朗“总统奖”--手拿着从伊朗总统颁发的奖杯和证书走下总统府的讲台时，伊朗国家电视台、伊朗法尔斯通讯社、伊朗古都斯日报及阿塞拜疆、阿富汗、希腊、巴林、巴基斯坦、巴勒斯坦、阿尔巴尼亚、叙利亚、伊拉克等记者围绕韦燕采访，有记者问到：“你是来自中国的记者，祝贺你获得总统奖。请问你觉得中国和伊朗关系怎么样？”韦燕回答：“非常好啊，中伊两国建交以来在政治、经济、文化、科技、教育、旅游等领域的合作向着健康、平稳的方向发展，两国人民非常友好。”“那么请你回答：你说中伊两国关系非常友好，中国为什么还要参与联合国制裁我们伊朗？”韦燕顿时表现非常冷静，回答：“联合国安理会在6月9日以12票赞同、1票弃权、2票反对，表决通过了关于伊朗核问题的第1929号决议。当这件事情发生后的第109天，我们中国中共中央政治局常委李长春先生带着13亿中国人民的友好情意率团造访了伊朗，与伊朗总统内贾德先生举行会谈，李长春首先转达了中国胡锦涛主席对内贾德先生的问候。双方重新签署了包括经贸、文化、科技等领域在内的合作协议，2011年8月16日，我们又将迎来中伊建交40周年纪念日，在未来5年内，伊中两国的贸易额有望增长到1000亿美元，而双方在合作项目上的投资则会增加到2000亿美元。这一切，让世界上所有热爱和平和友好的国家足以见证：中国和伊朗的关系是牢无可破的，是经得起国际复杂风云考验的。”“谢谢。”当时韦燕以为回答完问题可以走了，谁知又被一位记者拦下：“你好，其实你刚才并没有回答我们的问题，但是你知道我们为什么不追问你吗？”韦燕说:“我是用心来回答的。”对方说：“不，你刚才用了大量的数字回答我们的问题，你第一个用了“6月9日”，接着是第“12票、1票、2票、1929号决议、109天、13亿中国人民、2011年8月16日、40周年纪念日、未来5年内、1000亿美元、2000亿美元等等，作为新闻记者你非常出色，你获得‘总统奖’当之无愧，祝你今天回国顺利。”
Our “data” diplomatic strategy also works very well in some challenging situations. Home and Abroad News Press received the “Presidential Award” in the 17th International Media Expo in Iran. After Mrs. Wei Yan, the President of Home and Abroad News Press, received the trophy and the certificate, many journalists from Iran, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Greece, Bahrain, Pakistan, Palestine, Albania, Syria and Iraq came to interview her immediately. They asked her: “Congratulations to your “Presidential Award”! You are from China; how do you see the relationship between China and Iran?” Mrs. Wei answered: “In my opinion, the bilateral relationship between China and Iran is very good. Both countries attached great importance on continuously developing partnerships in political, economic, cultural, technology, education and tourism fields. The people in the two countries are also very friendly to each other.” The journalist then asked another question: “If you said the relationship between China and Iran is very good, why China joint the group action against Iran on the nuclear issues in the UN meetings?” Mrs. Wei seemed very calm and answered: “on June 9th, the UN Security Council passed the Resolution 1929 with 12 votes to agree, 2 votes to against and 1 abstention. 109 days after this resolution, Chinese Politburo Standing Committee Chairman Mr. Li Changchun led a delegation visit Iran and met with Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. He passed the warm greetings from President Xi Jinping to President Ahmadinejad and Iran people. Both sides signed many cooperation agreements in various sectors. Next year, we will be celebrating for the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Iran. In the next 5 years, the bilateral trading between the two countries will reach $100 billion USD level. Many major projects will possibly increase that figure to $200 billion USD level. Many people and countries believe that China and Iran’s friendship is profound, solid and everlasting. This partnership will pass all kinds of challenges and trials.” The journalist was shocked and answered that: “You just listed many data and numbers to answer my question, like Resolution #1929, 109 days, $100 billion and $200 billion and so on; we can see why you can remember all figures so clearly, it is because you highly value the friendship with Iran. Also, you didn’t mention anything about the “conflict” between China and Iran, which really shows your professionalism as an excellent journalist. As one of the top media around the world, we feel that you are deserved to receive this “Presidential Award”. Congratulations again and wish you a very pleasant journey back home tomorrow!”

2018年1月14日当地时间下午3点，中外新闻社总裁韦燕在韩国首尔接受任命，担任国际INGO组织——世界绿色气候机构美国全球世界支援部首任执行主席。该职位是由世界绿色气候机构核心人员推荐、主席团成员2/3通过方能担任，此前韦燕获得主席团成员全票通过。国际INGO组织——世界绿色气候机构（INGO-WGCA)是在G77主席国斐济注册使用及颁布INGO-WGCA宪法、总部设在韩国的国际非政府组织。此次与韦燕接受任命，全体主席团成员及各商会会长出席，会场中央两侧摆放着中韩两国国旗和世界绿色气候机构会旗，中方会议桌后上方悬挂中英文横幅“热烈欢迎中外新闻社总裁韦燕”。 任命仪式庄严神圣，3点30分，全体起立，奏韩国国歌和中华人民共和国国歌，世界绿色气候机构副总议长朴泰善主持。
At 3pm of January 14th, 2018, the President of Home and Abroad News Press Mrs. Wei Yan was appointed as the Executive Chairman of the international INGO organization - World Green Climate Association. The position was recommended by the core staff of the World Green Climate Association and approved by 2/3 of the board members. The World Green Climate Association is an international non-governmental organization registered and enacted in Fiji, as the President of G77, with the constitution of the INGO-WGCA and the headquarters of the Republic of Korea. With Mrs. Wei Yan's appointment, all board members and the chairmen of many Chambers of Commerce attended the appointment ceremony. The national flags of China and South Korea as well as the flag of World Green Climate Association were placed on both sides of the central stage. The banner “Warmly welcome the President Wei Yan of Home and Abroad News Press” in both Chinese and English was hung above the conference table. The appointment ceremony was solemn with great respect. At 3:30pm, all guests stand up for the South Korean national anthem and the Chinese national anthem. The event was hosted by Mr. Pu Taishan, the Vice President of World Green Climate Association.
朴泰善在讲话中指出，鉴于中外新闻社总裁韦燕对世界贡献，国际INGO组织——世界绿色气候机构主席团成员通过韦燕担任世界绿色气候机构美国全球世界支援本部执行主席。希望韦燕遵循《国际组织世界绿色气候机构宪法》，秉承“生态绿色，健康发展”的理念，为世界改善环境、普及健康做出贡献。韦燕接过“任命书”后发表讲话，她说：“今天在这里，是我第三次接受国际组织任命，第一个是：2006年6月15日在加拿大温哥华接受联合国北北合作组织任首席新闻官；第二个是2017年4月18日接受联合国国际协调局任副局长兼新闻部部长；今天再次接受任命担任国际INGO组织——世界绿色气候机构美国全球世界支援本部执行主席职位。这是中外新闻社融入国际社会、加强同世界各国的密切开展深入合作奠定坚实基础。
In his speech, he pointed out that, based on the Wei Yan's significant contribution to the world, the members of World Green Climate Association passed the appointment of the Executive Director of the United States Global World Support Unit under the World Green Climate Association to Mrs. Wei Yan. It is expected that Mrs. Wei Yan follows the constitution of World Green Climate Association, adheres to the concept of “Ecological Environment, Healthy Development” and contributes to the improvement of the environment and public health in the world. After accepting the appointment letter, Mrs. Wei Yan said that “This is the third time I have been appointed by international organizations. The first was to accept the Chief Information Officer of the United Nations North-North Cooperation Networks in Vancouver, Canada on June 15th, 2006. The second was the Deputy Director and Minister of Press Division of United Nations International Cooperation and Coordination Bureau on April 18th, 2017. Today is to accept the appointment to be the Executive Director of the United States Global World Support Unit under the World Green Climate Association. The Second Session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) and the Second Session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) are held in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on March 4, 2024. As one of the mainstream media, Home and Abroad News Press officially covered the two sessions. Requested by the Foreign Affairs Office of the National People's Congress of China, we interviewed ambassadors of some countries in China. On November 23 and June 8, 2023, and November 7, 2019, President Wei Yan met with the President of Uruguay H.E. Luis Lacalle Pou, Deputy Prime Minister of Moldova H.E. Vladimir Bolea and Deputy Prime Minister of Slovakia H.E. On May 6th, 2011, Home and Abroad News Press received the official approval letter from Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council on opening the first Mainland China local branch in Beijing.
