    On October 27, 2026, as Pakistan commemorated Kashmir Black Day and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the just struggle of the Kashmiri people for their inalienable right to self-determination as enshrined in the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions, President Wei Yan of Home and Abroad News Press, Executive Director Liu Dengchen, Executive Deputy Editor-in-Chief Hu Shumeng, Deputy Director Zhao Huanxiang were invited to attend the “Kashmir Black Day” commemoration event held by the Pakistani Embassy in China to mark the events that took place on October 27, 1947.

    On October 27, 1947, Indian troops entered Jammu and Kashmir in violation of international law, ushering in a long period of occupation, the deprivation of basic rights, and the continued denial of the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.

    H.E. Mr. Syed Ali Asad Gillani, Pakistan’s new Ambassador to China, delivered a keynote speech. “As we commemorate the Kashmir Black Day, I am honored to welcome you all to the Embassy of Pakistan. At this solemn moment, the Government and people of Pakistan reaffirm our unwavering solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir and our support for their inalienable right to self-determination.”

    Ambassador Syed Ali Asad Gillani said, “International law must be upheld and relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions must be implemented to ensure a just resolution of the dispute in accordance with the will of the people of Kashmir.” He emphasized that a peaceful and lasting resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute is crucial to ensuring lasting peace and stability in the region and beyond.”

    Ambassador Syed Ali Asad Gillani also commended China’s principled stance on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute and its support for resolving the issue in accordance with the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.

    At the event, Pakistan reaffirmed its unwavering solidarity with the people of Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and emphasized the need for a just and lasting resolution to the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and the will of the Kashmiri people.

    During the event, messages from the President, Prime Minister, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan were read aloud. The messages reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast moral, political, and diplomatic support for the legitimate struggle of the Kashmiri people to exercise their inalienable right to self-determination. The messages also condemned the ongoing human rights violations in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir and called on the international community to fulfill its obligations under international law to ensure that the fundamental rights of the Kashmiri people are respected.

    Ambassador Syed Ali Asad Gillani emphasized to the attendees the need to uphold international law and implement relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions to ensure a just resolution of the dispute in accordance with the will of the people of Kashmir.

    The event was attended by representatives from academia, the media, think tanks, and members of the Pakistani diaspora. During a conversation with Pakistan’s new Ambassador Syed Ali Asad Gillani, President Wei Yan introduced the Home and Abroad News Press Ambassadors’ Club to the ambassador and invited him to be the Honorary President of the Ambassadors Club. She also stated: “Home and Abroad News Press has every reason to believe that the people of Kashmir will embrace a future of peace, dignity, justice, and prosperity.”
