On the afternoon of October 18, 2023, Home and Abroad News Press journalist team for the "Belt and Road Forum" interviewed with Mr. Anuphap Tunalom, Head of the Delegation of National Assembly, Secretary of the City Party Committee of Vientiane Capital and Chairman of the People's Council, who was invited to attend the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRFIC) in China.
阿努帕•杜纳隆表示，老挝党、政府、人民高兴地看到，中国党、政府和兄弟的中国人民取得了巨大发展成就。中国的影响力不断提升，实现了跨越式发展，成为世界经济社会发展的典范，为老挝党和政府治国理政提供了重要借鉴，也为老挝保卫和建设国家事业提供不竭动力。在“一带一路”共建的国家，老挝是获得到巨大的效益的，在老挝，老中铁路已经成为当地的重要通道，也成为连接中国与东盟国家的重要通道。
Anuphap Tunalom expressed that the Lao party, government and people are pleased to see that the Chinese party, government and the brotherly people of China have made great achievements in development. China's influence continues to rise, has achieved sustainable growth, and has become a model for the world's economic and social development, providing important lessons for the Lao party and government in governing the country, and providing strong support for defending and building Laos. In the countries where the "Belt and Road" is being built, Laos has gained great benefits, and the Lao–China Railway has become an important corridor in Laos, as well as an important corridor connecting China and ASEAN countries.
今年是老中建交62周年。62年来，老中传统友好不断发展，各领域合作不断深化，为两国人民带来了实实在在的利益，两党、两国和两国人民之间都建立了高度互信。作为湄公河冲积平原上的国家，老挝具有丰富的土地和水资源，红木和铜矿蕴藏量也很可观。
This year marks the 62nd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Laos and China. Over the past 62 years, the traditional friendship between the two countries has continued to develop and cooperation in various fields has deepened, bringing tangible benefits to the people of the two countries. The two countries and the two peoples built strong mutual trust with each other. As a country on the Mekong River alluvial plain, Laos is rich in land and water resources, and has sizable mahogany and copper deposits.
阿努帕•杜纳隆认为，老挝与中国具有很强的互补性。“之前没有铁路，老挝的农产品即使有人采购，也卖不出去，无法大规模开发。一旦中老铁路通了，我们将种子和资金给予老挝农民，鼓励他们进行生产，这个工作未来会变成一项大宗商品贸易。”
Anuphap Tunalom believed that Laos and China have strong complementarities. “Before with no railways, Laos' agricultural products could not be sold for large volumes even if someone purchased them. Once the Lao–China Railway is launched, we will provide seeds and money to Lao farmers to encourage them for higher production, and this work will turn into a large commodity trade in the future.”
除了中老铁路，“一带一路”框架对老挝商品进入中国市场也起到了至关重要的作用。一方面，中国给了老挝国家一个展示自身的舞台；另一方面，中国已经成为世界经济的发动机，来这寻求合作机会，就是要搭上中国这列快车。
In addition to the Lao–China Railway, the “Belt and Road” framework has also played a crucial role for Lao goods to enter the Chinese market. China has given Laos a stage to show itself; on the other hand, China has become the engine of the world economy, and the reason for seeking cooperation opportunities here is to get on the express train with China.
在采访中，湖南省副省长秦国文同阿努帕•杜纳隆书记友好交谈，双方讨论了如何促进老挝与中国湖南省之间的贸易合作，重点是老挝对中国的农产品出口。中国是老挝第二大贸易伙伴，2018年至2022年，两国双边贸易额超过159亿美元，年均增长15.9%。
During the interview, Mr. Qin Guowen, Vice Governor of Hunan Province, had a friendly conversation with Anuphap Tunalom, where both sides discussed ways to promote trade cooperation between Laos and China's Hunan Province, with a focus on Laos' agricultural exports to China. China is Laos' second-largest trading partner, with bilateral trade between the two countries exceeding $15.9 billion USD from 2018 to 2022, with an average annual growth rate of 15.9%.
老挝主要进口中国的产品：机械、电器、设备、汽车零部件、钢材等。老挝向中国出口的产品：混合黄金、铁矿石、木材、家具产品、纸制品、化肥、乳胶、香蕉和其他水果等。
Products that Laos mainly imports from China include machinery, electrical appliances, equipment, automobile parts, steel, etc. Products exported by Laos to China are mixed gold, iron ore, timber, furniture products, paper products, fertilizers, latex, bananas and other fruits, etc.
采访中，阿努帕•杜纳隆分享了此次率团参加第三届“一带一路”国际合作高峰论坛的心得体会，表示过去十年，由中方倡议的共建“一带一路”取得巨大成就，也为包括老挝在内的共建国家带来重大机遇。面向未来，老挝坚定看好“一带一路”发展前景，将更加积极参与进来，共谋开放合作共享发展红利。希望围绕落实两国最高领导人达成的重要共识，携手推动地方间友好往来，借助老中铁路建成和顺利运营的东风，聚焦基建、经贸、文旅、教育、医疗和青年交流等领域开展更紧密务实的合作，为高质量共建“一带一路”注入更多动能，为巩固老中两党两国友好合作关系添砖加瓦。
During the interview, Anuphap Tunalom shared his experience of leading a delegation to attend the 3rd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, saying that in the past ten years, the construction of the BRI initiated by China has made great achievements and brought tremendous opportunities to countries, including Laos. Looking forward to the future, Laos is firmly optimistic about the development prospects of the Belt and Road, and will actively participate in the BRI to seek openness and cooperation and share the success of mutural development. It is hoped that around the implementation of the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two countries, they will join hands to promote friendly exchanges between the two peoples, and take advantage of the completion and smooth operation of the Lao-China Railway to carry out closer and more pragmatic cooperation in the fields of infrastructure, economy and trade, culture and tourism, education, medical care and youth exchanges for making high-quality development of the BRI and further enhancing friendship and cooperation between Lao and Chinese parties and countries. The two parties will work together to consolidate the friendly and cooperative relationship between China and Laos.
