In 2019, Uzbekistan was ranked as the fifth safest country in the world. At the 25th General Assembly of the United Nations World Tourism Organization, Samarkand, Uzbekistan's second-largest city, was designated as the World Capital of Cultural Tourism. In 2023, Uzbekistan's tourism villages were selected by the United Nations World Tourism Organization as one of the best tourism villages globally. At 4:00 PM, junior journalists waving the flags of China and Uzbekistan entered the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in China. They were greeted by diplomats from the embassy. President Wei Yan presented the diplomats with a copy of the Home and Abroad News magazine featuring the cover story of Chinese President Xi Jinping's meeting with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Consul General of the Uzbekistan Embassy Mr. Bobir Yakhyaev delivered a welcoming address. Mr. Yakhyaev said: “We warmly welcome the junior journalists to the Embassy of Uzbekistan. China and Uzbekistan share profound historical and cultural ties, with our friendship rooted in over 2,000 years of Silk Road history.” Since Zhang Qian's mission to Parthia (present-day Uzbekistan) during the Han Dynasty, the two nations have been closely connected through trade and intellectual exchange. Cultural interactions between Chang'an and Samarkand during the Tang Dynasty, alongside the profound influence of Ibn Sina's (Avicenna) Canon of Medicine on traditional Chinese medicine during the Yuan Dynasty, attest to the deep cultural integration between the two countries.

Mr. Bobir Yakhyaev also noted that in recent years, under the guidance of top-level diplomacy, China-Uzbekistan bilateral relations have developed comprehensively, with tourism cooperation accelerating significantly. The “Uzbekistan-China Tourism Year” launched in December 2024, has already held roadshow events in 26 Chinese cities. Concurrently, Uzbekistan is implementing the “Friendly China” initiative, aimed at creating comfortable travel conditions for Chinese tourists. The visa-free policy between China and Uzbekistan, effective in June 2025, has further lowered travel barriers for visitors from both countries. Their dances merge strength and grace, with swirling skirts evoking the spirit of ancient caravans. Handicrafts like miniature paintings, embroidery, and ceramics often feature tribal legends or natural motifs, each piece a unique work of art.
