On May 25, 2026, at the invitation of Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan to China H.E. Mr. Bunyad Huseynov, Special Representative of the Chinese Government for Eurasian Affairs Mr. Sun Linjiang, and the Member of the Parliament of Azerbaijan, the Head of the Azerbaijan-China Parliamentary Friendship Group, and Communication Director of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mr. Mr. Soltan Mammadov, along with other representatives, attended the reception in the International Banquet Hall of the China World Trade Center Hotel in Beijing to celebrate Azerbaijan’s National Day, President Wei Yan of Home and Abroad News Press attended the Azerbaijan’s National Day reception with many ambassadors from various countries and heads of international organizations.

At 7:00 p.m., the national anthems of Azerbaijan and China were played in the venue, followed by a welcome address by Ambassador of Azerbaijan to China H.E. Mr. Bunyad Huseynov. He said, “Today, I extend a warm welcome to every guest joining us at this reception celebrating the Independence Day of the Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan.” The Ambassador noted that President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan has carried forward the political policies of the great leader, leading the Republic of Azerbaijan to great victories, while our people are experiencing the most glorious period in our nation’s history. Azerbaijan has fully restored its territorial integrity and sovereignty. Azerbaijan has rapidly developed into the country with the most stable political environment and the most developed economy in the South Caucasus region.
布尼亚德•胡塞诺夫大使积极推动中阿双边关系的友好发展, 促进了两国经济和文化上的交流。他曾对中国脱贫攻坚的成就和在国际事务上的担当做出了高度评价, 并坦言“相信中国将为维护世界和平、促进共同发展做出更大贡献”。
Ambassador Bunyad Huseynov has actively promoted the friendly development of bilateral relations between China and Azerbaijan and fostered economic and cultural exchanges between the two countries. He has spoken highly of China’s achievements in poverty alleviation and its leadership in international affairs, stating frankly that he “believes China will make even greater contributions to maintaining world peace and promoting common development.”
布尼亚德•胡塞诺夫大使表示, 阿塞拜疆始终将发展对华关系作为外交优先方向, 一贯奉行一个中国原则, 坚定支持中方在台湾、涉港、涉疆等问题上的立场, 支持习近平主席提出的共建“一带一路”倡议和三大全球倡议, 愿同中方深化经贸投资、绿色能源、地方交往、人文旅游、应对气候变化等领域的务实合作, 加强在国际和地区事务中的协调配合, 推动两国关系不断向前发展。阿方期待加强两国执政党高层互访和青年交流, 阿驻华使馆愿为此发挥积极作用。
Ambassador Bunyad Huseynov stated that Azerbaijan has always regarded the development of relations with China as a foreign policy priority, has consistently adhered to the One-China principle, and firmly supports China’s positions on issues related to Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Xinjiang. It supports the Belt and Road Initiative and the three global initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping, and is willing to deepen practical cooperation with China in areas such as economic, trade, and investment ties; green energy; local exchanges; cultural and tourism exchanges; and climate changes, while strengthening coordination and cooperation on international and regional affairs to promote the continuous development of bilateral relations. The Azerbaijan is looking forward to strengthening high-level exchanges between the ruling parties of the two countries and youth exchanges, and the Azerbaijani Embassy in China is willing to play an active role in this regard.
中国政府欧亚事务特别代表孙霖江致辞。孙霖江说,在习近平主席和阿利耶夫总统战略擘画和引领下, 中阿关系快速发展, 各领域合作成果丰硕。中方愿同阿方一道, 以元首重要共识为根本遵循, 推动中阿关系发展不断取得新成就。双方保持高度政治互信, 扎实推进经贸、能源、交通、人文等领域合作, 在国际事务中密切协作。
The Special Representative for Eurasian Affairs Mr. Sun Linjiang delivered a speech. He said that under the strategic vision and leadership of President Xi Jinping and President Aliyev, China-Azerbaijan relations have developed rapidly with fruitful results in cooperation across various fields. China is willing to work together with Azerbaijan, guided by the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, to continuously achieve new milestones in the development of China-Azerbaijan relations. The two sides will maintain a high level of political mutual trust, steadily advance cooperation in areas such as trade, economy, energy, transportation, and people-to-people exchanges, and closely coordinate on international affairs.

Located in the South Caucasus region at the crossroads of East and West, Azerbaijan is the region’s most populous and largest country by land area, with a population exceeding 10 million. Azerbaijan is rich in natural resources, particularly oil, and boasts an ancient culture and a profound history. Since Azerbaijan gained independence in 1991, bilateral relations between China and Azerbaijan have progressed smoothly. Azerbaijan was among the first countries to express support for the Belt and Road Initiative and is China’s primary trading partner in the Caucasus region.

Azerbaijan and China have a long-standing friendship. During the reception, President Wei Yan of Home and Abroad News Press met with Ambassador Bunyad Huseynov, the Russian Ambassador to China, H.E.
