12月7日至8日，由国务院新闻办公室主办，中国外文局、上海社科院承办，中国梦国际研讨会在上海举行。来自中国、美国、英国、法国、德国、俄罗斯、印度、日本等20多个国家的近百名专家学者，围绕“中国梦的世界对话”这一主题开展深入研讨，中共上海市委副书记、上海市市长杨雄出席开幕式并致辞。国务院新闻办公室主任蔡名照出席开幕式并发表主题演讲。与会海内外专家瞩望这一中外对话，实现“让世界了解中国梦，让中国梦融入世界”的美好愿景。
On December 7th to 8th, the China Dream International Seminar sponsored by Press Office of the State Council, China International Publishing Group(CIPG) and Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences held in Shanghai. Hundreds of experts and scholars from over 20 countries such as China, the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Russia, India, Japan and so on carried out deep discussion on "the China Dream's World Dialogue". Mr. Yang Xiong, who is the vice secretary of Shanghai municipal and mayor of Shanghai attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Mr. Cai Mingzhao who is the director in Press Office of the State Council attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech. The experts from home and abroad are looking forward to the realization of "let the world know China dream, make China dream into the world" by this dialogue.

In the discussion about China dream and peace development, Chinese and foreign scholars mentioned that there are a lot in common in China dream and other countries' dreams. 与会各国专家认为：“中国梦”理念对于世界具有深远的启发意义。科威特大学政治学教授穆罕默德·塞利姆教授认为，当一个国家处于转型期，国家项目的实质就是国家的梦想，在中国就表现为由国家级领导人推动的“中国梦”，即中华民族的伟大复兴。“中国梦”是一个明确的发展目标，有助于中国规划通往目标的路径与战略。国家梦想一般高于现实，而现有政策又不太可能实现国家梦想，因此需要有一些新的政策，来调动一些新的资源和手段实现国家梦想。比如通过国家领导人推动的国家梦想，或者可以通过一些个人或者集团助推梦想的实现，也可以通过思想家来推动国家梦想的提出，从而对国家领导人产生影响。同时，国家梦想还应当和公众和全体国民的利益结合起来，而不是被个人利益捆绑。
Experts from all the countries think: "China dream" concept has of great enlightening significance to the world. Professor Mohammad Selim believes that the essence of the national project is dream of this country when a country is in transition period. And now "China dream" has been driven by Chinese leaders, which is the great revival of the Chinese nation. "China dream" is a clear development goal, helps China plan the target and strategy to the path. National dream generally is higher than reality, but current policy is unlikely to realize national dream, so it is necessary for a country to have some new policy to transfer some of new resources and means to realize the national dream. Such as through the national leaders to promote national dream, or can be achieved by some individual or group of booster dream, also can promote national dream by thinkers put forward, so as to affect the country's leaders. Meanwhile, national dream should also be combined with the public and the interests of the nation, not bound by personal interests.

Mr. Wang Zhan, the dean of Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences summarized a speech in the international symposium at the closing ceremony.
