尊敬的北海副部长，忠学副省长，铁堆秘书长，尊敬的韦燕总裁，尊敬的各国使节，女士们，先生们，朋友们大家晚上好！
Dear the Former Vice Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee Mr. Li Beihai, dear Vice-governor of Hubei Province Mr. Han Zhongxue, dear Chief Secretary of the Minister of Finance, Mr. Li Tietui, dear President of Home and Abroad News Press, Mrs. Wei Yan, dear foreign envoys and friends, ladies and gentlemen, good evening!
今天晴空万里，是个难得的好日子，我们迎来了中外新闻社13周年的生日庆典。这个庆典的时机非常好，我们国家的“两会”刚刚闭幕。会议历时9天，全国人大代表的提案就有六千余件。2014年中国被誉为全面深化改革的出发之年，人大代表为我们中国进一步改革发展提出了非常好的意见和建议，此次两会不仅牵动13亿中国民众的心，也引发了海内外各界的关注。
Today is a great day. We are gathering here to celebrate Home and Abroad News Press’ 13th Anniversary. This is a good timing, as the "Two National Congresses" have just concluded. The national congresses lasted for nine days and over six thousand proposals were submitted during the meetings. 2014 has been considered as the year of deepening comprehensive reform in China. The NPC members proposed excellent comments and suggestions on behalf of the Chinese people for China's further reform and development. The "Two National Congresses" not only touched the hearts of 1.3 billion Chinese people but also caught the attention of people from all around the world.
中外新闻社记者参加了“两会”的全程采访，针对国际社会关注的问题，撰写了多篇评论和报道，正如北海副部长刚刚所讲到的，13年来中外新闻社以坚毅不拔精神在国际舞台上不断创新，努力让世界看到一个深层次的中国，同时让中国人民了解世界，并取得了巨大成功。正因为如此，韦燕女士本人曾获得“总统奖”、“国王勋章”、并且还被拉斯维加斯授予荣誉市民称号。为此我由衷的祝贺中外新闻社在促进世界各国人民和中国人民的友好关系及推行“媒体外交”上所取得的成就。
Home and Abroad News Press reporters provided full media coverage during the entire meetings this year. The team focused on many hot issues in the international and domestic societies and published a series of reports. Like Mr. Li Beihai just said, for the past 13 years, Home and Abroad News Press held its unshakable faith in innovation while being active in the international community, and it has made great efforts to bring a deep understanding about China to the world, at the same time, it has made Chinese people learn a lot from other countries. The results were a huge success. Given all achievements, Mrs. Wei Yan has won the “Presidential Award”, the “Royal Medal” and the “Honorary Citizen” of Las Vegas. For this, I wish to express my congratulations to the Home and Abroad News Press in promoting friendly relationship between Chinese people and the people all over the world and celebrate the remarkable achievements based on Home and Abroad News Press’ “Media Diplomacy”.
今天，在中外新闻社建社13周年的时刻，有这么多国家驻华大使与我们欢聚一堂，就是证明我们中国与各国友好、和谐关系所在。在我们中国共产党第十八次代表大会之后，特别是在我们“两会”之后，中国和世界各国，特别是我们在座的各国，今后会更紧密的团结在一起，我们也希望中外新闻社以此为新的起点，进一步为促进中国和世界各国人民的友谊，为我们更多的了解世界，为世界更多的了解中国，做出更大的贡献，谢谢大家。
Today, in the 13th Anniversary Day of Home and Abroad News Press, we have so many ambassadors and foreign envoys joining together with us, which is a strong proof that China has friendly, harmonious relationship with other countries. After the National Congresses, we hope, China and other countries will strive for closer relations in the future. We also hope that Home and Abroad News Press takes this as a new starting point to further promote China's friendship with people all around the world, and make more contributions to the mutual understandings between China and the whole world.
