（中外新闻社 中外新闻网记者 张珈闻 陈怀艺）2024年7月30日适逢国际友谊日,为推进粤港澳大湾区文化建设, 中外新闻社总裁韦燕率大使俱乐部各国大使、副大使、参赞等一行来到韶关市展开文化之旅, 特别在东华禅寺, 这里风光旖旎,奇峰异石林立,松柏青翠,荷莲生香,修竹婀娜,殿宇庄严, 为颇具特色的宗教胜地, 使节们在这里度过了一个难忘的国际友谊日。
On July 30, 2024, coinciding with the International FriendshipDay, in order to promote cultural development in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, President of Home and Abroad News Press Mrs. Wei Yan led a delegation of ambassadors, deputy head of mission, and counselors from various countries to Shaoguan City for a breathtaking cultural tour. Especially at Donghua Temple, the scenery is beautiful with green peaks, tall pines and cypress trees, fragrant lotus flowers, dancing bamboo, and solemn temple buildings. It is a distinctive religious destination, and the diplomats spent an unforgettable International Friendship Day here.

At 11:40 am, Home and Abroad News Press Ambassadors Club foreign diplomat delegation slowly drove into Donghua Temple. Donghua Temple welcomed the foreign guests with special Chinese arrival ceremony: the Lion Dance, and then the delegation entered the meeting hall.

Master Wan Xing, the abbot of Donghua Temple, the president of the Buddhist Association of Wengyuan County, and representative of the People's Congress of Shaoguan City, warmly welcomed the foreign diplomats on behalf of Donghua Temple. He said, "Today is the International Friendship Day, and Donghua Temple is full of friends. Some friends have come from afar, but we are all connected. 座谈会上, 使节们观看了东华禅寺中英双语宣传片, 作为中国南方佛教圣地, 东华禅寺是一座源远流长的禅宗祖庭, 其渊源和法脉可追溯至距今一千五百多年的南朝, 禅宗六祖惠能继承五祖衣钵后, 曾在此修行, 为禅宗道场。宣传片展示东华禅寺致以敬意及感恩之情, 向社会慷慨布施, 用慈悲之心温暖世界。
At the meeting, the diplomats watched a bilingual promotional video of Donghua Temple. As a holy land of Buddhism in Southern China, Donghua Temple is a long-standing ancestral temple of Zen Buddhism, with its origins and lineage dating back to the South Dynasty more than 1500 years ago. After inheriting the mantle of the Fifth Patriarch, the Sixth Patriarch Huineng cultivated here and made this Zen temple. The promotional video showcases Donghua Temple's respect and gratitude, generously giving to society and warming the world with a compassionate heart.

H.E.Mr.Peter Lizak, Honorary President of Home and Abroad News Press Ambassadors Cluband Ambassador of Slovakia to China, delivered a speech on behalf of the delegation at the meeting. He said, “Donghua Temple and Master Wanxing made great impressions to us. Seeing the magnificent architecture of the temple seems to show us the pinnacle of Chinese architecture and its beauty. Today, the delegation we are visiting comes from five continents: Malta, Slovakia, Namibia, Pakistan, Iran and Uruguay. In today's rapidly changing world, facing unprecedented changes such as political diversity, economic integration, cultural diversity, and social informatization, all countries are facing many challenges. No one can be alone and stay out of the world. We strongly agree with Master Wanxing with his religious philosophy. The diplomats highly praised Master Wanxing for making traditional Buddhist and Zen culture with social and cultural values, as well as the ideology of the entire society, and for creating well-being for sentient beings. This has given them a renewed understanding of Chinese temple, and they all expressed their determination to seek cooperation in religious andcultural interactions. This is an important achievement of our visit today.
今天的日子很特别, 2011年5月3日, 第六十五届联合国大会以协商一致的方式通过决议, 决定将7月30日定为“国际友谊日”。决议指出, “在世界各地的人类生活中, 友谊作为一种高尚和宝贵情操弥足珍贵, 十分重要”。在这个特别的日子里, 来自斯洛伐克、马耳他、纳米比亚、伊朗、巴基斯坦、乌拉圭等六国驻华大使、副大使、参赞一起在万行法师引领下, 共敲响世界和平祈福钟；共种植国际友谊树；共写“福”字--福至心灵、五福临门。
Today is a special day. On May 3, 2011, the 65th United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution by consensus to designate July 30 as International FriendshipDay. The resolution points out that “Friendship, as a noble and precious sentiment, is extremely precious and important in human life around the world.” On this special day, ambassadors, deputy head of mission, and counselors from six countries including Slovakia, Malta, Namibia, Iran, Pakistan and Uruguay, led by Venerable Wanxing, nocked the Peace Bell for world peace and blessings together; planted the International Friendship Trees together; wrote the Chinese character 'Fu' (meaning fortune) together - Fu is coming into soul with all blessings.
中外新闻社总裁韦燕表示, 国之交在于民相亲, 民相亲在于心相通。东华禅寺以慈悲为怀, 以实际行动践行弘法利生事业, 向全世界传播佛教思想中的精深奥义, 其大爱与大行, 是积极推进国家“一带一路”繁荣昌盛、实现中华民族伟大复兴的榜样, 赢得各国宗教的尊重也揭示出中国外交之道, 世界各国的宗教界任重道远。
President of Home and Abroad News Press Mrs. Wei Yan said that the friendship between countries lies in people's hearts.
