（中外新闻社 中外新闻网 小记者北京报道）卢旺达共和国位于非洲中东部。中国和卢旺达是亲密的兄弟，友好的朋友和紧密的伙伴。1月29日上午，“见证友谊”---中外新闻社小记者团来到卢旺达驻华使馆，采访卢旺达驻华大使查尔斯 • 卡勇加阁下。
The Republic of Rwanda is located in the middle east of Africa. China and Rwanda are brothers, friends and close partners. On the morning of January 29th, “Witness Friendship” China Home and Abroad News Press 2018 Winter Junior Journalist Delegation visited the Rwandan Embassy in China and had exclusive interview withthe Rwandan Ambassador to China, His Excellency Mr. Charles Kayonga.
查尔斯 • 卡勇加大使和中外新闻社韦燕总裁共同主持采访活动，卢旺达使馆文化参赞卢文杰请致卡勇加大使欢迎辞。卡勇加大使说，感谢今天这么多年轻、美丽的孩子们来到我们大使馆。在卢旺达，我们都特别热爱儿童。因为我们每个人曾经都是小孩，就像在坐的你们一样。卢旺达的总统和中国习主席一样都是从小孩慢慢成长到现在一个伟大的领导者。所以当你们今天访问卢旺达大使馆，是一件非常重要的事，因为你们以后也会长大，成长为领导、部长、飞行员等。卢旺达和中国的地理位置相隔遥远，但两个国家依旧有许多相同之处。两个国家的人民都非常地热爱自己的土地，我们都曾为争取独立抗争过，我们都是热爱独立和自由的民族，这也是把我们两国联系在一起的原因之一。
Ambassador Kayongaand the President of Home and Abroad News Press Mrs. Wei Yanco-chaired the interview. The Cultural Counselor of the Rwandan embassy, Mr Virgile Rwanyagatareinvited the Ambassador to make a welcome speech. Ambassador Kayongasaid that We are very happy today to see so many young and beautiful children coming to our embassy. In Rwanda, we all have special love for children because each of us was a child before, just like you. The President of Rwanda and Chinese President Xi are great leaders who grew up slowly from their childhood as well. Therefore, it is very important for you to visit the Rwandan embassy today because you will grow up and become leaders, ministers and pilots in the future. Rwanda is geographically far away from China, but there are still many similarities between the two countries. The people of both countries love their own motherlands. We have been fighting for our national independence. We love and cherish hard-win independence and freedom. This is one of the main reasons forconnecting our two countries together closely.

Junior journalists watcheda documentary film aboutRwanda in the meeting room. The film showed Rwanda’s lakes and mountains, local customs, wild animals like giraffes and elephants, birds and foresters as well as aerial ropeways. After seeing those interesting facts, junior journalists started to love this African country.
采访正式开始，小记者问：“大使阁下您好！您曾任卢旺达国防参谋长、国防军陆军军长、卢旺达总统国防及安全顾问。2014年7月8日你向中国国家主席习近平递交国书，成为卢旺达驻华大使，您是一位出色的外交官和政治家。请您谈谈你对中国文化的了解和感受？
A junior journalist asked: “Hello Ambassador! You served as the Chief of Staff at the Ministry of Defense of Rwanda, the Army Chief of the Defense Forces, and Defense and Security Adviser to the President of Rwanda. July 8th, 2014 You presented your credentials to Chinese President Xi Jinping and became the Rwandan Ambassador to China. You are such an outstanding diplomat and experienced politician. Could you please share with us your understanding and feelings about Chinese culture?”
大使：这是个很好的问题。首先，文化是一个国家最重要的部分之一。中国拥有着世界上最源远流长、未曾被打断的5000年历史文化，所以对于我来说提到中国文化，我能想到很多方面。你吃什么、你怎么思考、怎么做事、怎样热爱着自己的国家、怎样工作都是文化中必不可少的部分。中国人的勤劳在我眼里是非常显著的性格特征之一，这样的性格表现从古至今贯穿着中国的历史。中国人历史上修建了长城，如今依旧在各种大桥、铁路等建设中震撼着我，让我十分尊敬中国人。
Ambassador: This is a good question. Firstly, culture is one of the most important parts of a country. China has the longest and unbroken 5000-year history and culture in the world, so I would think of many aspects when talking about Chinese culture. What you eat, howyou think, how to do things, how to love our own country, how to work are an integral part of our culture. In my views, Chinese people’s hard-working attitude is one of the most significant personality traits in Chinese culture, such a character from ancient to present throughout the history of China. The Chinese people built the Great Wall in history, and today they are still building various buildings, bridges and railroads, this leaves me with great respect for the Chinese people.
“大使阁下您好！你在中国—卢旺达建交45周年庆祝会上高度评价了两国友好关系，你表示，两国人民情同手足，卢旺达人民永远不会忘记中国人民在民族独立和解放事业上所给予的支持。你认为，两国青少年应该如何共同继承、维护和发扬这种宝贵的传统友谊？如何加强推动两国青少年的交流和发展？”小记者问。
“Hello Ambassador! At the celebration of the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Rwanda, you spoke highly of the friendly relations between the two countries. You said that people of both countries are deeply connected with each other. The people of Rwanda will never forget the Chinese people's support for national independence and liberation. In your opinions, how should the young people of both countries carry forward and continuously promote this precious traditional friendship? How should we promote the youth exchanges between the two countries? ” we asked.
卡勇加大使谈到，长大以后，相信你们会记得，你们小时候曾经来过卢旺达大使馆。中国和卢旺达的关系非常好。每年都会有卢旺达的很多学生来中国学习。他们来到这里也会了解很多中国的文化。可以和中国良好合作，让两国友谊地久天长。我邀请老师们可以带孩子们来卢旺达，乘坐卢旺达飞中国的航线。卢旺达有许多珍稀的动物和植物。卢旺达是非洲最安全的国家，比很多欧洲国家安全。所以，欢迎大家来卢旺达看看。
Ambassador Kayonga said that after you grow up, I believe you will remember that you had been to the Embassy of Rwanda as a child. China and Rwanda have very good relations. Every year many students from Rwanda come to China for study. They will also learn a lot about Chinese culture when they come here. We can work well with China so that the friendship between the two countries will last forever.I also invite teachers to take their children to Rwanda. There are many rare animals and plants in Rwanda. Rwanda is the safest country in Africa and even more secure than many European countries. Therefore, I sincerely welcome all of you to Rwanda.
“卢旺达共和国位于非洲中东部，属联合国宣布的世界上最不发达国家之一。请问大使’先生：卢旺达的教育系统如何？学生们都可以完成学业吗？”小记者问。
"The Republic of Rwanda is in the Middle East of Africa,one of the least developed countries in the world declared by the United Nations. May I ask Mr. Ambassador what the education system in Rwanda is and can all students complete their studies?” a junior journalist asked.
卡勇加大使说，卢旺达国家对教育非常重视，重点投入，不断地从世界各国挑选优秀老师来卢旺达任教，现在一、二年级小学生就已经使用电脑学习，政府确保中、小学生完成学业。
Ambassador Kayonga said that Rwandaattaches great importance to education and focuses its investment into the education system. We continually select great teachers from all over the world to come to teach in Rwanda. Now in the primary schools, the grade 1 and 2 students are already using computers for their study. The government ensures that all primary and secondary students will complete their studies.
采访会场上多次响起掌声，小记者们对卢旺达国家对教育的重视感到非常高兴，采访完毕，小记者们高兴向大使先生赠送各自准备的新年礼物，大使请小记者品尝卢旺达的美食和饮品。然后合影，小记者和卢旺达外交官度过了一段快乐而美好的时光。
During the interview, the meeting room was full of applause. The junior journalists were highly interested in the country's emphasis on its education. After the interview was over, the junior journalists were happy to present their new year gifts to the ambassador. The ambassador also provided delicious food and drinks for the students for a snack break. Then, we took group photos together. We all enjoyed this happy and wonderful time with the Rwandan diplomats in the embassy.
