印度是世界四大文明古国之一,曾创造了灿烂的印度河文明。公元前325年形成统一的奴隶制国家，1757年以后逐步沦为英国殖民地。1947年6月, 英国公布 “蒙巴顿方案”, 实行印、巴分治。同年8月15日成立印度自治领，1950年1月26日宣布为共和国, 仍为英联邦成员;同年4月1日同中国建交。1月23日下午，“见证友谊”中外新闻社2017寒假小记者团采访了印度驻广州总领事唐施恩先生。
India is one of the four ancient civilizations in the world. It created the splendid civilization of the India River. In 325 BC, India was a unified state of slavery. After 1757, it gradually became a British colony. In June 1947, Britain announced the “Louis Mountbatten Plan” to separate India and Pakistan. On August 15th, India become an independent dominion and announced to be the Republic country in January 26th, 1950. India then established the diplomatic relations with China on April 1st 1950. 下午3点，当中外新闻社小记者团挥动中印两国国旗步入印度驻广州总领事馆时，印度驻广州总领事馆全体外交官已经在为小记者们准备了丰富的印度美食，小记者们只能先采访、后品尝。
At 3pm in the afternoon, when the junior journalists entered the Indian Consulate General in Guangzhou with waving Chinese and Indian national flags, the Consulate prepared Indian delicacy for all delegation members. The junior journalists took the interview first, then enjoyed the delicious food.

“你好，唐施恩总领事！你1996年进入印度外交部, 曾担任印度驻缅甸大使馆公使，也曾担任过印度外交部外宣司副司长、印度驻荷兰海牙大使馆参赞，现在又担任印度驻广州总领事馆总领事。你的外交履历令人羡慕。你认为：中印两国学生应该如何交流本国文化? 谢谢！”小记者问。
“Hello, Consul General Mr. Sailas Thangal Yangdenglungtu, you joined the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1996, and served as the Minister of Indian Embassy in Myanmar before. You were also the Deputy Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of India and the Counselor of the Indian Embassy in The Hague. Now, you are the Indian Consul General in Guangzhou. Your diplomatic background and experience are very impressive. In your opinions, what should Chinese and Indian students do to promote exchanges with their own culture?” a junior journalist asked.

唐施恩总领事微笑回答：“这个问题很好。中印两国友好交往由来已久。特别是近年来，随着两国高层领导人频频互访，两国关系保持不断发展的良好势头,也为两国各个领域发展创造了很好的机遇。”总领事表示他将会极力推动中国教育机构与印度总领事馆、印度高校加强往来和交流，特别是云南大学与印度的智库建立联系以及与印度东北部开展交流和语言教学活动,为推动中印两国学生交流本国文化做出努力。
Consul General Mr. Sailas answered with smile: “This is a good question, China and India have long-history friendship. In the recent years, through the frequent high-level exchange visits, China and India not only developed and maintained good neighboring relationship, but also created many opportunities in various sectors.” Mr. Consul-General expressed that he will actively promote the communication and exchanges between Chinese educational institutions and the Indian Consulate General in Guangzhou as well as with Indian higher education institutions. In particular, Yunnan University and India Think Tank jointly organized the exchange and language teaching programs in the Northeastern India, this program made great efforts to promote the student communication to exchange their own culture in both countries.

有小记者问：“”唐施恩总领事你好！你来到广州任职已经一年多，像我们中国人一谈起印度，就想到印度的有佛教，印度电影很受欢迎。那么一谈起中国，你第一时间会想到什么？一谈起广州，你又会想到什么？谢谢！”
Another junior journalist asked: “Hello Mr. Consul General. You have been in Guangzhou for more than a year. Just like Chinese people talking about India, we knew about Buddhism, Bollywood movies etc. When talking about China, what are the things in your mind? How about Guangzhou? Thank you!”

“我之前来过中国, 但是只是以游客的身份。我可以告诉你的是, 当我走在广州的街上时, 我并不觉得自己是在外国。至少, 看到街上的人的时候, 我觉得自己就是其中一个。我喜欢到中国人去的农贸市场, 我看到了只在我家乡才有的蔬菜。中国茶、丝绸、水饺等等都是我到中国、到广州就会想到的。” 总领事谈到。
“I have been to China before, but I was a visitor at that time. I want to tell you that when I walk in the streets in Guangzhou, I don’t feel like being away from home. I enjoy going to the farm product market because I can find the vegetable only available in my hometown. Chinese tea, silk cloth, dumplings and many things will make me remember Guangzhou.” the Consul-General replied.

“我们希望更多中国游客来印度。在我看来, 和中国一样, 除了印度, 再无其他国家能够向游客展现出那么多元化的文化, 而且除了大家熟悉的诸如泰姬陵之外, 你还可以去印度滑雪, 去沙滩晒太阳等等。另一面游客可以感受独特的印度宗教, 印度是一个有着众多庙宇的地方。在印度旅游, 都会被这里的特色宗教气氛和这里的各种庙宇所吸引。只要你们想去印度旅游，什么季节都会令你满意、开心。” 唐施恩总领事回答。
“We hope more Chinese visitors would come to India. In my opinions, there are only a few countries in the world can showcase many cultures at one place. People can visit the beautiful Taj Mahal while going to the mountains for skiing or taking sunbath on the beaches. Visitors can also experience the uniqueness of Indian religions. India has a lot of temples. When you visit India, you will be attracted by the atmospheres of different temples. Whenever you go to India, any seasons will make you happy with an unforgettable journey.” The Consul-General answered.

采访环节完成后，小记者们开始品尝外交官准备的印度美食，小记者也将自己准备的新年礼物赠送唐施恩总领事，祝福他和印度外交官们度过一个欢乐祥和的中国春节。总领事给每一位小记者回赠礼包，其中一个U盘有8部印度电影，一时间印度总领事馆飘出小记者们的笑声、欢呼声，大家对这个神秘的国度—印度又有了新的了解。
After the interview, the junior journalists tasted the Indian delicious snacks prepared by the consulate. They also presented the new year gifts to the Consul-General and other consulate officers with their joyful and warm Chinese New Year wishes. The Consul-General also gave gifts to the junior journalists, including a USB key with eight famous Indian movies in it. At that moment, the joy and laugh filled the entire consulate, and the junior journalists got new understandings about this mystery country --- India.
