高志磊是澳大利亚驻华大使馆新闻文化参赞，可是一位“中国通” 。8月9日下午，他用一口流利的中国话在澳大利亚驻华大使馆接待我们小记者，他说：“欢迎中国的小记者采访澳大利亚驻华使馆，友谊就是相互走访、相互尊重、相互理解。祝你们采访顺利。”
Mr. Michael Growder is the Cultural Counsellor of the Australian Embassy in China, and he is very famrmiliar with China. In the afternoon of August 9th, he welcomed our junior journalist delegation with fluent Chinese. He said: "Welcome Chinese junior reporters to the Australian embassy. Friendship is mutual visits, mutual respects and mutual understandings. I wish all of you enjoy your visit here today."
佘星俞小记者第一个提问：“2010年10月，我们小记者采访上海世博会澳大利亚馆时，澳大利亚新闻官问我们：“当你听到‘澳大利亚’四个字时，你第一时间想到什么？”当时我回答，我想到了蓝天、白云、考拉、悉尼歌剧院。现在我还想了解真正代表澳大利亚的文化是什么？”
She Xingyu asked the first question: "October 2010, our junior journalists visited and interviewed the Australian Pavilion during the Shanghai World Expo. The Australian press officer asked us: "When you hear the word 'Australia', what is in your mind?" We answered: “I think Australia has blue sky, white clouds, koalas, the Sydney Opera House and so many other symbolic things. Now I wish to learn more about the Australian culture, what is the real Australian culture?”
高志磊参赞回答：“澳大利亚大部分人都是来自世界各地，它的文化是多元化的，所以我们并不想把某种事物定义为澳大利亚所特有的。但我可以告诉你，澳大利亚大概有16、17为获得诺贝尔奖的科学家。近期会有2位来中国访问。”
Mr. Growder answered: "Most people in Australia come from everywhere around the world. Its culture is highly diversified; therefore, we don't have a single definition about what Australia has. But I can tell you that Australia has about 16 or 17 Nobel Prize-winning scientists. Two of them will visit China in the near future."
小记者问：“现在伦敦奥运会正在紧张的举行，请问澳大利亚军团最擅长的体育项目是什么？预测本次奥运会澳大利亚可以获得多少枚金牌和多少枚金牌？”
Junior journalist continued to ask: "The Olympic Games is currently being held in London, What are the best sports in Australia? What is your forecast for the Australian Olympic Team this year? How many gold medals and total medals do we expect?"
“澳大利亚擅长的奥运项目有游泳，另一个是帆船项目，到目前为止，已经获得2枚金牌。”
"Australia is good at swimming and sailing in Olympics Games. Up to now, we received two gold medals."
小记者们请高志磊谈谈澳大利亚的教育。高志磊说，澳大利亚的教育质量是非常高的，学历也是世界公认的。生活环境也是非常好，国内的交通十分便利。最近我们的移民政策和签证政策有些改变，本科毕业后可以在澳大利亚工作2年，硕士可以工作3年，博士可以工作4年。
Regarding to the education system in Australia, Mr. Growder said, the quality of Australian education is extremely high. The academic degrees are globally recognized. The living environment is also very good, the country has advanced transportation systems. Recently, our immigration policies and visa policies are somehow updated. International students can work up to two years with undergrad degrees, three years with master degrees and four years with doctorate degrees.
采访中，高参赞着重指出了两国之间国际学生在双边人民之间关系中起到的重要作用。“每一位留学生就是一名大使。”人员交流让两国人民互相了解，进而互相尊重和包容。”
During our interview, Mr. Growder emphasized the great importance of exchange students between China and Australia, the students play significant roles in the bilateral relationships of the two countries. "Every international student is an ambassador of his own country." For that reason, the communication and connection will make the people in the two countries will understand more about each other and mutually respect to each other.
在澳大利亚大使馆，小记者们了解到了很多信息，比如：全球第一所“孔子旅游学院”在澳大利亚布里斯班格里菲斯大学揭牌，开创了以旅游为特色开展汉语教学的新模式；有许多知名的澳大利亚音乐家和艺术家来到中国各地，与中国观众见面等。我们期待着：新上任的高志磊参赞能够为中澳两国文化交流作出更大的贡献。
In the Australian embassy, our junior journalists have learnt a lot of information, such as the first “Confucius Institute for Tourism Studies” was found in Griffith University in the city of Brisbane. This college focuses on tourism with an innovative Chinese language study model. Many famous Australian musicians and artists have been to China and had face-to-face interaction with Chinese audiences. We all wished Mr. Growder will make greater contributions to the bilateral cultural exchanges between China and Australia.
