Kenya is located in Eastern Africa. Kenya is one of the cradles of mankind, because there was a 2.5 million-year-ago human skull unearthed in Kenya before. In the 7th Century, a number of commercial cities were created in the southeast coast of Africa, the Arabs settled there for business and living. At 2:00 pm on Aug. 7th, Home and Abroad News Press 2015 Summer Junior Journalist Delegation visited the Kenya Ambassador's Residence and had an exclusive interview with Ambassador Mr. and Mrs. Michael Kinyanjui. They personally welcomed the entire delegation at the embassy gate and shook hands with each of the journalists. All Kenyan diplomats accompanied the crew for the interview.

小记者们首先观看肯尼亚国家文化、旅游视频，然后听取迈克尔·金扬久伊大使介绍肯中两国近年来经济、文化、旅游等领域交流合作情况，并与小记者友好交流。有小记者问：“大使先生你好，2014年7月9日你在清华大学“青年志·中国梦·非洲情”清华大学非洲志愿团启动仪式活动中，你发表的演讲给中国青少年留下很深的印象。请问：在大使任职内，你将如何推动中肯两国青少年务实的交流、为中肯世世代代友好打下更加坚实的基础？”
The junior journalists firstly watched a video about Kenya’s culture and tourism. Then Ambassador Mrs. Michael Kinyanjui introduced the current relationship between China and Kenya in the fields of economy, culture, tourism and other areas. A junior journalist asked: “Hello, Mr. Ambassador. You gave a speech at the Opening Ceremony of Tsinghua Volunteer Corps to Africa on July 9th, 2014 at Tsinghua University. Your speech left great impressions to the students and the young people in China. During your term as the Ambassador to China, how will you promote the bilateral relationship with China, especially in promoting youth exchanges between the two countries to lay a solid foundation for China-Kenya’s friendship from generation to generation?”

“China and Kenya relations can be traced back 600 years ago. 600 years ago, the Chinese navigator Zheng He made seven voyages to the oceans, and he visited the port city in the eastern coast of Kenya, called Mombasa. Since then, the relationship between China and Kenya has been very closely. As the ambassador, I came to China to continue developing the friendly relations between the two countries. “我们注意到：中国孔子学院在肯尼亚很受欢迎，为肯尼亚当地民众学习汉语、了解中国文化的需求提供平台，促进不同民族间的相互理解和沟通。请问：你喜欢中国文化吗？你对孔子学院在肯尼亚汉语的推广有什么好的建议？”、“肯尼亚被称为非洲东部草原，数百万年前古人类在此发源，那里是野生动物的天堂，是美丽的度假胜地，请问：肯尼亚国家是如何保护野生动物的？如果我们到肯尼亚旅游，选择什么时间去最适宜？”……小记者提问了自己关心的问题。
“We note that Chinese Confucius Institute is very popular in Kenya. This provides a special platform to the local people who enjoy learning Chinese language and understanding the Chinese culture in order to promote mutual understanding and communication between different ethnic groups. We want to ask you: Do you like Chinese culture? Do you have any suggestions to promote Chinese language through the Confucius Institute in Kenya?” “Kenya is known as the grasslands in Eastern Africa. Ancient human beings lived here millions of years ago. It is also a haven for wildlife with beautiful resorts. We would to know: How Kenya protects the wildlife? If we want to visit Kenya, when is the best time to travel to there in a year?”… … the junior journalists asked questions one by one to show their interests in Kenya.

“肯尼亚现已建立4所孔子学院、1所孔子课堂，是拥有孔子学院最多的非洲国家之一。中国每年向肯提供500多个政府奖学金和培训机会，肯各界人士踊跃赴华留学深造。”
“Kenya has established four Confucius Institutes and one Confucius Classroom by now. It is one of the African countries who have the most Confucius Institutes. China is willing to provide more than 500 governmental annual scholarships and training opportunities to Kenya so that many students enthusiastically willing to come to China for their further study.”

迈克尔·金扬久伊大使还回答了关于肯尼亚国家保护野生动物的法规，其他外交官也给予补充，期间，还跟着小记者、来自广州市华阳小学六年级学生杨秉翰学习中国传统文化--打太极拳，动作正确、学习认真。此次采访，来自非洲外交官风范给小记者们留下深刻地印象。
Ambassador Mr. Michael Kinyanjui also introduced the Kenya's national legislation on the protection of wild animals and other interesting topics. During the interview, the junior journalist from Guangzhou Yang Binghan made a Chinese traditional cultural show – Tai Chi. This interview left a great impression of the African diplomats to all junior journalists.
