入选理由：冰岛驻华大使古士贤阁下是一位出色的政治家和外交家，曾任冰岛驻欧洲经济合作组织以及联合国教科文组织常务副代表及驻多个国家大使，获得英国文学学士及哲学研究生学位。古士贤阁下两度任冰岛驻华大使，在双方扩大在地热资源开发与利用领域的合作上倾注精力，把冰岛的先进技术科学合理地应用到中国的实际需求中，并积极推动冰中在旅游、经贸、科技、文化等领域的交流与合作。2013年中冰正式签署自贸协定后，两国的经贸合作也得以快速增长，在古士贤大使的积极推动下，2018年中国与冰岛双边贸易进出额同比增加40.2%。
Winning reasons: His Excellency Mr. Gunnar Snorri Gunnarsson is an outstanding politician and diplomat. He served as the Deputy Representative of Iceland to the European Economic Cooperation Organization and UNESCO as well as the Ambassador to many countries. He has obtained a bachelor's degree in English Literature and a postgraduate degree in Philosophy. He served as Ambassador of Iceland to China twice. He devoted his energy to expanding cooperation in the field of geothermal resources development and utilization, applied Iceland's advanced technology to China's actual needs. He also actively promoted exchanges and cooperation in tourism, economy and trade, science and technology, culture and other fields. After the signing of the Free Trade Agreement between China and Iceland in 2013, the economic and trade cooperation between the two countries has also grown rapidly. With his efforts, the bilateral trade volume between China and Iceland increased by 40.2% in 2018 compared with the same period from last year.
